25 Days To Rankings

Thought would attempt this as a joke – actually suggested it to Matt Cutts on Google Plus. 25 Days, 25 tips, but I will add them here and expand this post as I go.

Tip #1. Be sure your site has been verified by Google Web Master tools, and Bing Webmaster Tools. Also ensure you have Google Analytics Running – I am quite astounded by how many company’s out there don’t have any way of tracking their website performance.

Bottom line – if you spend money on it, there must be some sort of tracking involved to see how effective it is.

Day 2. December 2nd

Content. Review and update your content. Keep it fresh, clean and easy to read. Avoid too much jargon and acronyms. Sometimes, your potential customer may not know what the scientific name or model number is, but recognise the image or picture (oh I snuck in another tip there. Images)

Google Plus Pages for Business

google plus logo thumb Google Plus Pages for BusinessWell its probably old news by now, but Google + (plus.google.com) is the social media platform built and ran by Google with its own dedicated +Project team.

Initially set out as an invite only platform and soon, in the last few weeks, Google allowed business pages much like Facebook Pages to be ‘attached’ to a personal account. So far though it has to be a personal account with a name and surname etc and by the looks of it you can do as many pages as you like under the one account. Many people and businesses choose to have a single page/account for each of their branches or city/state offices.

My page is West Legacy – https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/117498971725680083192/ attached to my personal +Christopher West account. Check it out here.

If you have not already done so, get a + account and get a Page. Google is pushing and has been pushing this for ages now, and finally they may have it right.
