Leveraging the power of your website’s home page isweb seo home page thumb Web SEO Home Page A to Z of SEO important to your web SEO efforts

Everyone knows that most of your website’s traffic will come to your home page.

Your home page is the one that can benefit most from your web SEO efforts. Your primary keywords discovered or decided upon for your search engine optimisation program should focus around your home page.

If you are selling pet care products, then your home page should have the title: Pet Care Products and perhaps throw in another word or two such as accessories, buy online, etc. The whole home page should have content about pet care products and accessories and should act as the basis for your website’s theme.

Additional web SEO tips include have a eye catching call to action button that will take the visitor direct to the shopping cart, contact us, or registration page depending on what your goal is. If it is just readership, then you want them to subscribe or register.

Thirdly, you can use the value of your home page as a staging area for additional internal links. Links on your home page and point to deeper but also critical pages of the site. For example, in our pet care example above, let’s say you have divided your site into Dogs, Cats and Small Animals (hamsters, rabbits etc), you can then have a category page for each item with details. Link to those category pages from your home page. Doing so will increase the ‘value’ and visibility of those pages as well as help search engines to index and find more pages on your website.

This is just a short one today, so hope this has helped in your website search engine optimisation efforts.

Cheers, Chris…
